Core Beliefs and Doctrinal Statement
Discendo Adoramus - Through Learning, We Worship

Core Beliefs

Our Christian identity is at the center of all we do.

We are a community dedicated to serving our

community and honoring God, but our mission

extends beyond simply appreciating these timeless

ideals; we aim to embody and practice them. When

students learn to love these ideals, they naturally

begin to live them out.

Christian classical education is an education for the betterment of one's own soul.

We believe that education is worth pursuing because it is good, not because it will bring success in a future career or aid in climbing a social ladder. We want our students to grow up with a love for learning that lives beyond graduation; for students to be like a sharpened arrow that pierces the darkness around them because they have feasted on truth, goodness and beauty for their entire childhood.

Doctrinal Statement We believe in one God, the Creator of the universe, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This Triune God created everything "out of nothing" (ex nihilo). He created the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve, in His image (imago Dei). God blessed them, called them "Man," and instructed them to reflect holiness through obedience to His commandments. However, mankind has failed in this responsibility and fallen into moral corruption, becoming estranged from our Creator. We believe that, out of deep love for His creation, God initiated a plan of redemption, which He fulfilled through the historical incarnation of Jesus Christ. Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament, fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life of perfect obedience. He was crucified to atone for the sins of humanity and was resurrected on the third day. He now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding on behalf of His people. We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin and the wrath of God is given by grace alone, through faith alone, on the basis of Christ’s work alone. We believe that the risen Christ, having ascended into heaven, sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in the hearts of believers, bringing about their regeneration and sanctification, enabling them to live godly lives. We believe that the Bible, comprising the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is divinely inspired and free from error. It is infallible, true, and trustworthy, carrying the full weight of God’s authority. We believe in the lordship of Christ over all aspects of life. God’s commandments are relevant to our culture, and our faith should be expressed through both personal and social actions. We strive to be faithful disciples of Christ, living out our callings in love and obedience as we await His return to establish His Kingdom. As such, we affirm the following truths: All people are created by God as His image-bearers with inherent value and dignity from conception to death. God created mankind as male and female, with each person’s biological sex being immutably determined at conception. God designed marriage as a covenantal bond between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s relationship with the Church. His will for all people is chastity before marriage and fidelity within marriage. No desires or affections can justify sexual acts outside of marriage or any form of sexual immorality. A Christian’s true identity is found in Jesus Christ alone, not in self-ascribed or cultural identities. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved to eternal life and joy, and the lost to eternal damnation.
