What could it mean for a child to be given access to an education that forms the soul?

Each day a child is growing, changing, and being formed by all that he or she consumes. Unfortunately, the norm in many public schools is to consume mediocre, technology-driven curriculum that consistently leaves students underperforming, lacking basic knowledge and skills.

The statistics show that here in Fort Worth, only 33% of third graders can read on grade level.

Third grade is a significant academic milestone because it's the year students transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." Studies show that students who do not master reading fundamentals by third grade are destined to struggle academically for the duration of their schooling.

In addition, our children are facing the increasingly tumultuous waters of competing world views: apathy where wonder once stood, and a skepticism towards God and His universal truth. This is where Charis Classical's heart and the city's deep need meet.

At Charis, students will feast on the best literature, ideas, music, and mathematical and scientific breakthroughs our western world has produced--learning different attributes of our Creator, our great Architect, all along the way. We want to send our graduates into the world prepared to think for themselves, to sift the wheat from the chaff in the barrage of the information age, and to grow affections for what is true, good and beautiful. Our students will be equipped to stand firm on their lifetime of discipleship.

We feel that the Lord has placed a burden on our hearts; to foster a learning community where students seek Truth by seeking Him. Many parents and families want this for their children, but they lack the financial means to make this dream materialize.

Would you prayerfully consider sponsoring* a child, making this education and discipleship available to more families?
